Chadong Ancient Wharf

Biancheng Town, formerly known as Chadong, located at the junction of Hunan, Chongqing and Guizhou, is an important center of political, economic and cultural exchanges. It is one of the four famous towns in Xiangxi, with profound cultural deposit and relatively developed tourism. It is famous at home and abroad for the novel Biancheng written by Shen Congwen.

The wharf was a ferry for the convenience of the masses to cross the river, covering an area of about 100 square meters in the Republic of China era. After the foundation of the PRC, it got maintained by the government. At present, the wharf made of stone bars with a total of eight steps has become the ferry from Biancheng Town to Chongqing. In 2006, it was selected as the eighth batch of cultural relics units under provincial-level protection.
