Tianxin Pavilion

Upon the west gate of Tianxin Pavilion Scenic Area, tourists can be reminded of ancient Changsha by the bumpy ground and blueish-gray wall.
Further up, you can see the only remaining ancient city wall of Changsha which stands several tens of meters high. It was built in the fifth year of Emperor Gaozu’s reign of the Western Han Dynasty (202 BC) and is the only ancient building in Hunan Province that has a complete set of functions and relatively intact preservation, incorporating city walls, moats, and artillery platforms. Later, during the Republic of China period, the city wall was demolished due to the construction of a ring road, with only 251 meters preserved under Tianxin Pavilion. It is a witness to the thousands of years of historical changes in Changsha City.
Continuing up the stairs beside the ancient city walls, visitors can see Tianxin Pavilion standing tall at the highest point of the wall. Upon entering the pavilion, they will find numerous pairs of couplets hanging on the walls, which are quite fascinating to see.

Xia Chengtao, a pioneer in modern lexicology, wrote a famous couplet to praise Tianxin Pavilion and Changsha. Kou Zhun, a poet in the Northern Song Dynasty, also wrote a famous line after gazing into the distance from the high point of the pavilion.
As the park had only just opened, a couple of locals were practicing Tai Chi to music outside Tianxin Pavilion. Some tourists were attracted to the old cannons on the antique gun platforms in front of the pavilion, gathering around to discuss their origins.
Tianxin Pavilion is a three-storey building, and the walls of the first and second floors feature historical information about the construction, renovation, and reconstruction of the pavilion. Climbing to the top floor and looking into the distance, visitors can see the bustling streets and traffic of the city. The modern city and the ancient building are harmoniously blended together.
