Sangzhi Zhanggu Dance

It is a collective dance performed by Bai men in Sangzhi with double-headed hourglass drums in hands. Performers dance to the accompaniment of percussion instruments such as drums, gongs, and cymbals, with a minimum of 6 persons and a maximum of 10 to 20 persons. Bystanders can also participate in it spontaneously, and those without drums can freely pick up wooden sticks, smoke sticks, and other objects to dance.

Sangzhi Zhanggu Dance was included in the third batch of national intangible cultural heritage projects on May 23, 2011.
