Chinese Opera artists gather in Orange Isle

The Second Traditional Opera Exhibition Activity was held that day, and famous opera artists of different genres gathered in Changsha Orange Isle, bringing a wonderful cultural feast.
Chinese opera culture has a long and profound history. As an important part of traditional Chinese culture, it connects people’s memories of their hometowns with local dialects, emotions, and musical rhythms. This event aims to promote the outstanding traditional Chinese culture, showcase the modern versions of operas and ballads, and facilitate the communication and exchange of traditional cultural arts among different regions.

The event invited famous artists from a variety of Chinese opera genres, including Peking Opera, Hunan Opera, Kunqu Opera, Ningbo Opera, Yue Opera, Huangmei Opera, Changsha Flower Drum Opera and Changsha Fiddle Ballad Opera to exhibit well-known segments of classical Chinese opera.
Among them, six individuals who had received the most esteemed honor in Chinese drama and performing arts, the “Plum Blossom Award”, namely Zhang Fuguang, Cao Rulong, Wang Jinwen, Wang Qin, Zhang Lin, and Fu Xiru, dazzled the audience with famous pieces such as “Dream Tryst in Peony Pavilion”, “Spring in a Pleasure Garden Snow”, “Pawning Wife” and “The Female Consort Prince”.

In addition, excellent young actors from local genres of Hunan Opera, such as Changsha Fiddle Ballad Opera, Changsha Flower Drum Opera, and Hunan Opera High-pitched Tune, also brought wonderful performances such as “Inviting Guests to the Old Street”, “Woodcutter Liu Hai”, “Praying to the Moon”, which heightened the atmosphere of the whole performance and received continuous applause from the audience.
