Former Residence of Xu Guangda

Xu Guangda, born in 1908, is from Changsha. He is a proletarian revolutionist and strategist, the main founder of the armored force of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army. He was awarded the rank of general in 1955. Xu once served as deputy minister of Ministry of National Defense of the People’s Republic of China, and made outstanding contributions to building modern and regular armed forces. In 1955, Xu took the initiative to lower his general rank, and was praised by Chairman Mao Zedong as “the mirror of the communists’ self-revolution”.

Introduction to the Former Residence of Xu Guangda
The Former Residence of Xu Guangda was built in 1901 with a construction area of 540 square meters. It’s a civil structure with 20 rooms. In the former residence there is an exhibition of related photos, cultural relics and other materials to show Xu’s lifetime achievements.
