Hunan’s foreign exchange income from inbound tourism reaches 47.3455 mln US dollars

At the press conference of the 2023 Hunan Culture and Tourism Industry Expo held on August 21, it was announced that in the first half of this year, Hunan achieved a foreign exchange income of 47.3455 million US dollars from inbound tourism, an increase of 22 times compared to the same period last year.

From January to June this year, the total number of tourists received in Hunan Province was 292 million, and the total tourism revenue hit 437.246 billion yuan, an increase of 68.27% and 67.33% respectively year on year.

The revenue growth rate of cultural and tourism-related service industries was more than 6.7 times that of the overall service industry. The night economy in Changsha continued to heat up, and all six districts were listed among the “Top 100 Districts for Competitiveness Index of China’s Cultural Industry in 2023”.
