Hunan’s 10 ICH projects shine at 8th CICHE

Colorful activities like study tours and ICH performances were launched during this year’s ICH expo to further enrich visitors’ viewing experience. Other activities like exchange meeting on ICH integrated into modern life and launching conference of ICH brands were held to promote exchanges and cooperation among different entities like inheritors, enterprises and industry associations.
In the performance exhibition area, the classic songs of Changde string music were performed in rotation. Miao paintings, blue cloth with design in white, Miao cross-stitch works and Xiangxi bamboo weaving skills were all displayed.
Zhang Yuanzhong, a 74-year-old representative inheritor of Guzhang Maojian Tea making skills at the provincial level, showcased his tea art on the site, attracting a lot of attention and fully demonstrating the fruitful achievements of Wuling Mountain Area (Western Hunan) Tujia and Miao Cultural and Ecological Protection Zone in promoting regional protection of intangible cultural heritage.
Dong brocade weaving works and Qifengdu fish rice noodles were favored by tourists and sold well.

Hunan embroidery pieces and tea utensils innovated by Hunan Normal University were eye-catching. It’s a vivid practice of research and training institutions promoting the creative transformation and innovative development of ICH and integrating ICH into modern life with academic resources.
This event showcased the innovative achievements that have been made in the inheritance, protection, and development of Hunan’s ICH in recent years. It innovatively integrated traditional ICH elements into modern life, making ICH projects shine in the new era.
