The tea gardens in Lanshan County are mainly distributed on the high mountains above 500 meters, where the clouds and mist mingle all year round with moist air. There are three main tea planting areas, including Baidieling, Shaziling and Huangmaoling.
In recent years, Lanshan County has compiled a “Plan on Lanshan Tea Industry Development”, which has guided the county to focus on developing high mountain organic tea, especially the famous high-quality green tea. The county has introduced many excellent varieties of tea, and constructed the mother tea tree garden base in Xiangjiangyuan National Forest Park.
The tea garden applies green prevention and control technology and promotes green fertilizer planting. More than 40 percent of tea gardens in the county have passed the green certification, and over half of tea gardens have passed the organic food certification. The county’s tea gardens cover a total area of 33,500 mu (about 2,233.33 hectares) with an annual output of 730 tons and an annual output value of 127 million yuan.
