Enjoying ICH performances and local specialties in Qidong

“Welcome to taste our new product, day lily tea,” said Wan Jirong, general manager of Hunan Youji Food Co., Ltd., who introduced the agricultural product displayed at his booth, adding that we have three products exhibited during the festival, including the day lilies made by ancient techniques, the ready-to-eat pre-made day lilies and day lily tea.
At the rural revitalization agricultural product exhibition area, day lilies, oil tea, sweet potato flour noodles and other organic, green and healthy local agricultural products were showcased, attracting many people to taste and consume.
The whole exhibition area was divided into cultural sketch area, exhibition board area, ICH performance area, and agricultural product display area. Among them, there were 34 booths for rural revitalization agricultural products and 10 booths for characteristic ICH performances.
At the characteristic ICH performance area, an exciting opening dance started the exhibition and performance. With the beat of drums and rhythms of music, the playful lions danced and jumped, exhibiting an imposing presence. Qidong Minor, the martial art performance and other programs with local characteristics were successively staged. The visitors were all enthusiastic and broke into long applause.
The whole performance venue was immersed in a joyful atmosphere. The innovative performance of traditional works allowed the visitors to appreciate the charm of intangible cultural heritage up close. Meanwhile, the winners of the Douyin Short Video Contest and Photography Contest of the third Qidong Day lily Festival were awarded prizes during the activity.
“The ICH performances tonight are wonderful. My kids and I all have a good time,” said the citizen Xu Zhongyou.
This activity combined static exhibitions with dynamic performances and created a wonderful cultural feast for local people and tourists from across the country to taste local agricultural products and experience charming ICH culture.
