Two photography competitions launched in Hunan

As one of the key literary and artistic projects of Hunan Province in 2023, the “My Village” rural revitalization image creation project aims to collect a number of excellent images that reflect Hunan’s rural revitalization in an all-round way through a series of activities such as photography solicitation, serial theme creation, VR panoramic image creation and image exhibitions, reflecting the new changes and new atmosphere of Hunan’s promotion of rural revitalization in the form of photography in the new era.
The 2023 “My Village” Rural Revitalization Photography Solicitation has three categories: the theme photography unit, the AI image special competition unit, and the mobile photography unit, among which the AI image special competition unit is set up for the first time in Hunan’s photography solicitation. It is clearly defined that AI technology can be used to add some highlights to photography images to show the most beautiful villages in the future.
At the same time, the mobile photography unit welcomes the photographers from the whole country to record the daily life of their loved ones, as well as the unique geographical landforms, old and new buildings, and folk customs with their mobile phones.
Since the implementation of the image creation project, the Hunan Photographers Association has carried out themed photography creation activities, organized and mobilized photographers to focus their lenses on the rural revitalization demonstration villages and other places during the 14th Five-Year Plan period in Hunan Province, in a bid to record the new appearance of rural development from multiple perspectives, and inject a strong cultural impetus into rural revitalization.
The China·Hunan “Red, Green and Ancient” Colorful Xiaoxiang Photography Contest will be held every two years from this year. The contest aims to promote Hunan’s Red, natural and humanistic tourism resources, and depict a new Hunan with harmonious coexistence of human and nature.
The 2023 First China·Hunan “Red, Green and Ancient” Colorful Xiaoxiang Photography Contest includes the theme photography unit and the “Dong’an Impression” special competition unit.
The theme photography unit is divided into two categories of pictures and VR panoramic pictures, which collects photographic works that reflect Hunan’s long-standing history and culture, picturesque landscapes, and the development and changes of Hunan in recent years.
The “Dong’an Impression” special competition unit collects photographic works reflecting the history, culture, and natural scenery of Dong’an County.
During the competition, the organizer will invite photographers to the places with the most unique and rich “red, green and ancient” cultural resources in Hunan to create photographic works, looking at China’s Red culture, landscape culture and history culture from an international perspective, and helping the integrated development of Hunan’s culture and tourism.
The selected works are planned to be exhibited in the Xie Zilong Photography Museum. At the same time, through the creation of Hunan VR panoramic image smart tourism map, a “never ending” online exhibition will be launched in the way of culture plus technology, allowing people to explore the millennium Hunan culture online and offline.
