Hengyang launches theme activities to retrace industrial nostalgia

The history of Hengyang is a history of revolutionary heroes and industrial development. From Cai Lun’s paper-making a thousand years ago, to the military factory, the electrical factory, and Shuikoushan, the lead capital in China one hundred years ago, the industrial genes are seen in the urban development of Hengyang.
The Jianxiang industrial cultural block is upgraded and transformed from the historical building complex of the former Hengyang Jianxiang Diesel Engine Factory, which witnesses the changes in Hengyang’s industrial history and has a strong industrial cultural heritage.
These theme activities will further explore Hengyang’s industrial culture, and fully show the industrial history and culture with Hengyang characteristics through four sections, namely old photo collection, old photo exhibitions, audio story and welcoming old industrial people to return home.
The collection of old photos will be launched on August 1, and aims to collect photos of Hengyang’s old industrial products, major industrial events, industrial production lines, industrial workers, old industrial sites and industrial landmarks that had disappeared before 2000.
At the old photo exhibition which will be held during the tourism development conference, a “time imprint corridor” will be created in the Jianxiang industrial cultural block, using sound and image technology to reproduce industrial historical scenes, so that the audience can feel the digital technological interaction.
Relying on mini program technology, a cloud-based time museum will be opened online and offline in the audio story section. It will also be launched during the tourism development conference, when visitors can watch photography works offline and listen to the stories behind 100 industrial photos.
The activity of welcoming the old industrial people to return home will kick off in September, and old industrial people will be invited to visit old factory sites and share their experiences and feelings.
