Two scenic areas in Hunan listed among Top 100 National 5A-level Tourist Attractions

The Yuelu Mountain and Orange Isle Scenic Area has profound historical heritage and unique cultural charm. In 2023, it received nearly 30 million tourists.
In recent years, the scenic area has strengthened brand cultivation, launched activities such as book clubs, deepened the integration of the Yuelu Mountain culture and tourism, created Yuelu Mountain cultural and creative products, and established the Yuelu Mountain Cultural and Creative Industry Research Institute to improve the cultural soft power of the brand “Yuelu Mountain”. Meanwhile, it has also created a demonstration model of a “zero carbon scenic area” in Orange Isle to build a new pattern of all-for-one tourism.
The Aizhai-Shibadong-Dehang Grand Canyon Scenic Area is mainly composed of the Aizhai Wonders Tourist Area, the Shibadong Scenic Area, and the Dehang Grand Canyon Scenic Area. The Aizhai Wonders Tourist Area and Dehang Grand Canyon Scenic Area, located in Aizhai Town of Jishou City, have unique roads, bridges, valleys, waterfalls, and customs, and is a comprehensive cultural tourism area that integrates sightseeing, experience, science popularization, and leisure. The Shibadong Scenic Area, located in Shuanglong Town of Huayuan County, is the pioneer of “targeted poverty alleviation” and also a window to observe the changes of Chinese rural areas.
In recent years, on the basis of preserving the style of Miao villages, Shibadong Village has added cultural experience forms such as Miao embroidery, carried out multiple folk activities, and developed rural tourism. It has achieved sustainable utilization of tourism resources such as mountains, waters, forests, and fields.
