Quaint homestay inn in Taolin Village
2022-09-13
In the early morning, it is peaceful and quiet in Taolin Village of Dankou Town, Chengbu Miao Autonomous County.

Liu is a native of Chengbu. After graduating from university, she had been working in Shenzhen and Changsha as a financial investor. When she returned to her hometown by chance, she found that there were a large number of visitors to Hunan Nanshan National Park and Taolin Village.
In October 2021, Liu’s Shili Taolin Homestay Inn was opened. Covering a total area of 1,800 square meters, the homestay inn was originally two old houses owned by Liu and her uncle. Now, the dilapidated old house with its age-old pillars has been renovated to a quaint homestay inn instead.
There are just 11 rooms, including five distinctive tented rooms. The homestay inn has been fully booked almost every day since July, with numerous guests from Shenzhen, Changsha, Shaoyang and other cities.

Just a few hundred meters from the homestay inn is the Taolin River. The brilliant sunshine and clear water tempt many visitors especially children to play in the water.
Not far away from the river, there were tourists walking back and forth on Yulin Dam to take pictures, and a large number of tourists were enjoying rafting, boating and other entertainment activities. These days the entertainment activities in the Taolin River have attracted numerous tourists, with its weekend turnover reaching 10,000 yuan for rafting alone.
Named after the peach grove, the village boasts more than 10,000 peach trees. People come here as if they walked into a "peach blossom garden". Peach blossoms contend in beauty and fascination from February to March every year, attracting visitors from all over the country.

In order to better present and pass down the traditional culture of Taolin Village, the village has set up Taolin Cultural Center, where villagers are organized to put on performances with Miao characteristics. These performances have reproduced the life scenes of the Miao ethnic group on stage.
At present, there are nearly 50 houses engaged in agritainment in the village. Additionally, 47 enterprises have been founded to develop the rural tourism.
