Scenic areas to hold activities for coming Chinese Lunar New Year

Changsha City
Changsha Window of the World
A “Temple Fair” will be held in Changsha Window of the World from February 10 to February 25.
During the event, a hundred-meter long dragon will appear and tens of millions of lanterns will be displayed. Tourists can enjoy the dragon lanterns, and cross a sea of lanterns to experience the charm of Chinese New Year. Besides, the scenic area will also prepare such activities as the lion dance and the Chinese costume show.
Ancient Town of Tongguan Kiln
The Tongguan Kiln Temple Fair and the Second Traditional Chinese Lantern Show will open on February 3 and last until February 25. In addition, some tourists can enjoy free admission to the Tongguan Kiln Scenic Area. From January 20 to February 4, elementary school students aged 12 or below can receive free admission tickets with their ID cards, student ID cards or student handbooks, but they must be accompanied by an adult.

Jiuxian Lake Scenic Area
The scenic area will provide free admission tickets for tourists nationwide from February 1 to February 29. Tourists can enter the park by purchasing a transportation ticket for 20 yuan.
In addition, those who celebrate their birthdays between February 9 and 17 can receive one ticket package for free worth 108 yuan with their ID cards. During the Spring Festival holiday, tourists born in the year of the dragon can get one unique gift from the scenic area with their ID cards. Tourists who purchase tickets to the scenic area can enjoy a 10% discount on dining and accommodation at Tongxinhu Hotel.
There will be a series of festive activities in the scenic area from February 11 to February 17, including writing the character “福” (which means good fortune), shooting dice, lion dances, folk experiences, and face changing.
Yiyang City
Qingyun Cave Scenic Area
Qingyun Cave is a national 4A-level tourist attraction and has sent free admission tickets from now to February 25.
Tourists can receive a free admission ticket with their original driver’s licenses or ID cards after reposting the relevant activity of the official WeChat account of the scenic area on WeChat moments for more than 1 day. Such free tickets can be used by children under 1.4 meters (including) (minors under 18 years old with valid certificates), elderly people over 60 years old (including), full-time students in primary and secondary schools as well as universities, excluding students of adult education, master, and doctoral degrees.
Changde City
Taohuayuan Scenic Area
The Chinese New Year folk activities will be held in the scenic area from February 10 to February 17, including dragon and lion dances, parades, NPC interactions, and praying for blessings to the Nuo god.
In addition, from now until February 29, the scenic area will launch a discount activity, with a ticket price of 99 yuan per person (including a 40-yuan dining voucher) for individual tourists and a ticket price of 69 yuan per person (including a 40-yuan dining voucher) for tour groups led by travel agencies.
Liuye Lake Tourist Resort
A Chinese New Year garden party will be held at the Liuye Lake Fishermen’s Song Art Camp of Liuye Lake Tourist Resort from February 10 to 17.
Chengtou Mountain Scenic Area
A series of activities with the theme of “Dragon Year” will be held in the Chengtou Mountain Scenic Area from February 10 to 24, including the Wuqiao Circus, the intangible cultural heritage market, the night light show, and the fireworks show.
Huayanxi National Forest Park
Entrance tickets will be provided for tourists for free from all over the country in Huayanxi Scenic Area, Huayanxi Town, Changde City from February 10 to 17.
Yueyang City
Yangsha Lake Tourist Attractions
A New Year parent-child music festival will be held here from February 3 to February 25, at which there will be such activities as the cute pet circus performance, tasting intangible cultural heritage cuisine, making intangible cultural heritage handicrafts, dragon and lion dances, and fireworks shows.
Yongzhou City
The 4th Lingling Folk Temple Fair and the 2024 Lunar New Year’s Shopping Festival opened in Lingling District, Yongzhou City on January 20, 2024. This temple fair has innovated folk customs, intangible cultural heritage, cuisine, and cultural creativity, inherited the temple fair culture, and presented a festive atmosphere full of fun and excitement.
There will be a variety of products, handicrafts, and specialty snacks displayed and sold in the square of Dongshan Mountain Scenic Area and Fuzheng Street from January 20 to February 25 to meet all needs for New Year goods. At the same time, the Lingling Folk Art Festival will be held in the Dongshan Mountain Scenic Area.
On February 2, a parade will be held in Wu Temple of Lingling District to pray for blessings to Guan Gong.
On February 24, a lantern riddle exhibition will be set up in the Dongshan Mountain Scenic Area, inviting tourists to take part in riddle guessing, knowledge quizzes, and ancient poetry reciting activities. Cultural and creative souvenirs and annual free travel cards for national scenic areas in Lingling will be available for participants.
From February 1 to February 24, a New Year light show will be held in Chaoyangyan Park, together with other wonderful performances such as molten iron flower fireworks shows, dragon dances, and Dunhuang flying dances, to create an authentic, visually stunning, and festive atmosphere.
The Hongjiang Spring Festival cultural and tourism event will be held at the Hongjiang Ancient Commercial City from February 3 to February 24. It will consist of seven theme activities, including a feast for Hongjiang merchants, the New Year Concert, opera performances, praying for blessings, and the third Hunan Dragon Dance Show.
