Themed activities to kick off in Changsha for New Year’s Day holiday

Changsha Window of the World
From December 30, 2023 to January 1, 2024, the Red-nosed Clown Festival will be held at Changsha Window of the World. At that time, hundreds of Chinese and foreign clowns will perform street dumb shows and magic bubble shows, allowing tourists to enjoy the happy New Year’s Day holiday to the fullest.

In addition to the nightly snow spraying battle and the lighting ceremony of the New Year’s blessing tree, Changsha Window of the World, together with Sany Heavy Industry, will jointly create the “Giant Happy Egg Twist Car”, which contains tens of thousands of red ocean balls bringing good luck and blessings for the New Year.
The red gashapon machine in the scenic area will have 2024 capsule toys, symbolizing the 2024 wishes for the New Year. Tourists can participate in the lucky draw activity, with the highest award a two-person tour in France.
Finally, on the evening of December 31, a fireworks display will be staged at the Alexander Lighthouse in the scenic area to welcome the New Year.
Xiangjiang Happy Ocean Park
Xiangjiang Happy Ocean Park is the largest marine theme park in Hunan, with a rich variety of marine animals. Polar bears and emperor penguins will make their debut in Changsha, and beluga whales, Arctic foxes, sea lions, tropical fish schools, etc. are also highly popular.

From December 30 to 31, the park will host the Polar Carnival. During the event, tourists can experience the joy of snow making in Changsha, take a stroll in the “Dolphin Tunnel”, and watch the performances of sea lions and the comedy troupe.
Huayi Brothers (Changsha) Film Town
Tourists can come to the Huayi Brothers (Changsha) Film Town to enjoy the western romance. From December 9, 2023 to January 1, 2024, the film town will prepare the snow spraying battle, immersive performance, romantic fireworks display, and festival market, allowing tourists to experience the beauty of the world.
Ancient Town of Tongguan Kiln
From December 16, 2023 to January 7, 2024, special events will be held in Ancient Town of Tongguan Kiln, including the laser water screen movie, the lantern show of the Dragon Year, gift delivery, and sending New Year’s greetings.

As night falls, there will be also an electronic music show, and the molten iron fireworks show, bringing a wonderful audio-visual feast.
Changsha Fantawild

From December 30, 2023 to January 1, 2024, an ice and snow festival will be held in Fantawild. There will be the meteor showers fireworks show, New Year’s bonfire party, snow spraying battle, and gold coin delivery in the scenic area.
Liuyang Sky Theater
At 8 pm of December 31, 2023, the New Year’s Eve Fireworks Prayer’s Night activity will be held at the Liuyang Sky Theater, bidding farewell to 2023 and welcoming the arrival of 2024. The whole event will last for four hours and consist of a large-scale immersive fireworks show, a national-style fireworks performance, a China-chic music party, and making New Year’s wishes.
Changsha Sea World
The Ocean Ice and Snow Festival will be held at the Changsha Sea World during New Year’s Day holiday. During the event, more than 350 species of marine animals can be seen at night, including newborn Papua penguin babies. There will be also exciting performances of dolphins and sea lions staged in turns.
The scenic area will also set up an ice and snow market, where tourists can participate in handicraft activities such as bead stringing and making fish lanterns to welcome the year 2024.
Changsha Museum
Tuoba Xianbei is a hunting and nomadic tribe who established the Northern Wei Dynasty (386-534) and united the North China.

On December 28, Changsha Museum will launch a special exhibition on Chinese civilization, titled “The Road of Integration—the Migration and Development Process of Tuoba Xianbei”.
There will be 180 pieces/sets of cultural relics from the Datong Museum, Inner Mongolia Museum, Luoyang Museum, and Hulunbuir Museum on display, leading tourists to experience the world of Northern Wei over 1500 years ago.
The exhibition will be open for free to visitors.
