Dongjiang Lake, the largest artificial lake in Hunan, covers 160 square kilometers with 8.12 billion cubic meters of lucid water, reflecting the harmonious coexistence of humans and nature. The tourists who come here are all fascinated by the picturesque ecological beauty.
Longjing Canyon is 2.5 kilometres long and has 18 waterfalls of different sizes, including Yanzhushan Waterfall, Longjing Waterfall and Longyin Waterfall, and 26 pools. The waterfalls cascade straight down, forming unforgettable natural landscapes. The air in the scenic area is fresh and pure, rich in negative oxygen ions and phytoncide given off by a variety of plants. The highest negative oxygen ions are up to 98,000 per cubic centimeter, making the scenic area with the most intensive negative oxygen ions in China so far.
The Doushuai Karst Cave, which was formed 2.7 million years ago, is a limestone cave with karst landform. It is hidden on Doushuai Island, the largest island of Dongjiang Lake. Inside, the caves are connected, deep and circuitous, with numerous stalactites and stalagmites. The highest stalagmite reaches 36 meters, which is the highest in the world.
In Dongjiang Lake, there are both calm waters and turbulent Dongjiang River rafting. The 28-kilometer-long Dongjiang River rafting, with a fall of 75 meters, passes through 108 dangerous beaches, and the longest one is more than 100 meters long. It is known as “the first rafting in China’s ecotourism”. The gorge is magnificent with lush vegetation on both sides. You can take a raft down the river between the strange rocks and the deep forest, experiencing the excitement and enjoying the coolness in summer.
The ancient Nanyue Huilong Mountain, 1,480 meters above sea level, is the birthplace of Nanyue religious culture. And the wonder of the sea of clouds here is one of the eight ancient sights in Zixing. At sunrise, the clouds rise and fall, with the golden sunlight and the white cloud adding radiance to each other, and the mountains in the distance are like a dragon looking back.
