Colorful nighttime economy at the foot of Mount Heng
Shuilian Village, five- or six-minutes’ drive from Nanyue Temple, is a new choice for many tourists. There is a lotus pond of nearly 200 mu (about 13.33 hectares). Lotuses give off a pleasant perfume. If you walk by the pond, it will be easy for you to touch the lotus leaves and seedpods.
Not far away from the lotus pond, there is a clear mountain stream that is popular with families. While children are playing in the stream, parents can either sit on the rocks to take pictures or roll up their pants to catch small fish and shrimp in the water with their children.

There is a building that is easy to be ignored at East Xiangjiang Road—— the Former Site of the Southern Hunan Federation of Students. It was here that the flame of the May Fourth Movement became the cradle of the revolution in Southern Hunan.
Nowadays, next to the former site, the newly built Memorial Hall of Southern Hunan Federation of Students has become an educational base for the public to know more about the history of revolution.
