Enjoy coolness in Cai Lun Bamboo Sea

The scenic area is located at the upper reaches of the Leishui Scenic Belt in Leiyang City of Hengyang City, with a total planned area of 106.6 square kilometers, including 2.7 square kilometers of water area, and a bamboo forest area of 160,000 mu (about 10666.67 hectares). It is the largest contiguous bamboo forest in China and is known as the “Asian Bamboo Forest” and “Natural Oxygen Bar”.
According to a staff member of the scenic area, due to the influence of terrain and vegetation, the average temperature on the mountain is about 3 ℃ lower than that at its foot. Many tourists come here to escape the heat. At the Qingquan Shishangliu Scenic Spot, some tourists place their fruits in the water and children play in the water.
At present, the scenic area is undergoing a comprehensive upgrade for the third Hunan Tourism Development Conference to be held in Hengyang City.
“The infrastructure is our priority. Renovations have been carried out from the entrance to the observation deck, and multiple experiential projects have been added, such as mountain bikes and tourist boats. Currently, we have designed three tour routes for sightseeing buses, self-drivers, and rowing boats. Tourists can experience Cai Lun’s ancient paper-making skills, treasure seeking in the mining park, and other projects. In the future, a water carnival will be held. The scenic area is expected to be fully open to tourists before the third tourism development conference,” said Xiang Jing, deputy general manager of the Scenic Area Business Development Center.
