The Jianxiang Industrial Culture Block, with a tall chimney, rusty giant machinery, old-fashioned red brick walls, was unveiled in early September this year. It is a national industrial culture research and practice education pilot demonstration base and a provincial-level industrial heritage project. In just half a month, it has become a new popular destination for citizens and tourists.

Hengyang is a city closely related to industry. The Jianxiang Industrial Culture Block used to be the Jianxiang Diesel Engine Factory founded in 1950. The factory independently developed Hunan’s first diesel engine, making positive contributions to the country’s industrial development. With the changing times, it has left behind a large amount of precious industrial heritage, exuding a strong sense of nostalgia.
