Yuanshen Bay Scenic Area in Hongjiang City
Yuanshen Bay Scenic Area is located by the Yuanjiang River in Yuancheng Village, Hongjiang City. It’s a comprehensive tourist attraction that integrates Red tourism, study tour, parent-child entertainment, outdoor expansion, team building activities and leisure and vacation.
Such tourism infrastructure and service facilities as sky tent camping area, beach off-road outdoor experience area and Thomas little train park are available in the scenic area.
In winter afternoons, you can come here to cook tea around a stove, taste authentic farmhouse specialties at Yuancheng’s themed restaurants, or have an outdoor picnic.
In recent years, Yuancheng Village has actively promoted the development of rural tourism around the Red Star Qianyang Exhibition Hall. In 2013, it was rated as a provincial characteristic tourism village. In 2016, it was included in the fourth batch of China’s traditional village list. It’s also a characteristic tourist village of the cultural and ecological tourism boutique route in Western Hunan, popular among citizens and tourists.
Mujiao Scenic Area in Tongdao Dong Autonomous County
Mujiao Scenic Area is located in the northeast of Tongdao County, with S341 road running through the whole scenic area. The scenic area is adjacent to Longdi River Rafting Scenic Spot and Wanfo Mountain.
It has been rated as a “Hunan Forest Wellness Base”, a “Demonstration Village for Beautiful Countryside in Hunan Province”, and a “Civilized Village in Huaihua City”.
There is now a farm, a fruit picking garden, a water tour study, cultural and tourism complex, and a practice education campsite at Mujiao Scenic Area. It is lined with green trees, with a forest coverage rate of 81.6% and an average annual temperature of 16.8 degrees Celsius. It’s a good place for rural tourism.
Cloud Jungle Scenic Area in Mayang County
Mayang Cloud Jungle Scenic Area is located in Nanmuqiao Village, Tanjiazhai Township, 19 km away from Mayang County. It takes one hour to the scenic area from Huaihua South Railway Station by car. The scenic area has lush plants, waterfalls, streams, steep cliffs and terraced fields.
The scenic area takes the Nanmuqiao College Student Entrepreneurship Base as the spatial carrier, and relies on the unique water environment of Baokuling Reservoir. It is composed of an interactive learning experience area and an immersive leisure experience area, with a total construction area of 3,400 square meters.
It is a comprehensive scenic area that integrates multiple experiences such as science education, parent-child entertainment, Party building training, and leisure vacation. The main projects of the scenic area include Cloud Jungle Study Base, Totoro Study Dormitory, and Yunling Fishing Paradise.
Starry Sky Scenic Area in Xupu County
Xupu Starry Sky Scenic Area is located in the middle section of the Xuefeng Mountains, and at the top of mountains in Yanxi Township, Xupu County. The core scenic area covers an area of 12 square kilometers, with north-south air convection and fresh and comfortable atmosphere. The annual average temperature is 13 degrees Celsius and the highest temperature in summer is 28 degrees Celsius, making it the cool capital of the world.

The scenic area has multiple attractions, including Lover’s Valley, Monkey Roaming Grand Canyon, Moon Lake, Natural Maze and Huanyun Peak, Tea-horse Ancient Road, Shanyin Pavilion and Yunwu Temple.
In 2019, Hunan Mantianxing Ecological and Cultural Tourism Company settled in the Starry Sky Scenic Area, striving to create a tourist destination for sightseeing, leisure and wellness relying on local residents and focusing on forest wellness.
The scenic area was approved as a national forest wellness pilot construction base in 2021, and was rated as a five-star rural tourism area in Hunan Province in 2022. It has now been listed as a node scenic area for the Great Xiangxi Tourism Boutique Route and Hunan’s traditional Chinese medicine wellness tourism boutique route. It has also been identified as a key tourism development project in Hunan Province.
The Victory Park for Xiangxi Bandit Suppression in Chenxi County
The Victory Park for Xiangxi Bandit Suppression in Chenxi County is a historical microcosm of the Chenxi Bandit Suppression Campaign, which truly records the magnificent epic of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army eliminating banditry. It has now become an important venue for national education on the theme of fighting against banditry in Xiangxi, and was officially opened to the public in 1953.
It’s a patriotic education base in Hunan Province that integrates cultural relics protection, cultural industry, tourism and leisure, and revolutionary traditional education, with unique natural resources.
There are many ancient and famous trees in the park, such as camphor trees, sycamore trees, yew trees and ginkgo trees.
In spring, when the flowers are blooming, people roaming here can enjoy the fragrance of flowers. In the hot summer, people take a break from the summer heat and enjoy the coolness leisurely here.
In autumn when it is clear and crisp, children fly kites in the square, which makes a unique childish fun. And in the snowy winter, the elderly do morning exercises in the square, which is a dazzling scene.
