Ancient villages are a living fossil of rural folk cultural heritage, and Hongjiang City has 24 traditional Chinese villages.
Wenglangxi Village is located in the eastern part of Longchuantang Yao Township. Its dwellings are built on mountain slopes and turtle shell-shaped giant stone platforms, with angled cornices and stone steps leading to them. Tourists can experience such traditional folk custom activities as the grass dragon dance and making glutinous rice cakes held on festive occasions.
Yuancheng Ancient Village is located in Yuanhe Town, known as the Island of Dong people.
89 years ago, the Second and Sixth Corps of the Red Army passed through the village during their long march. Yuancheng Conference Memorial Hall witnessed this revolutionary history.

It’s said that Shi’s Family Courtyard in Chaxi Village, Qiancheng Town was built by the descendants of great scholar Shi Nai’an in the late Yuan and early Ming dynasties. There is also the courtyard of the new star Yiyang Qianxi in Luowen Village, attracting many people.
