‘Zhuhai Fantasyland’ rehearsed in Taohuajiang Zhuhai Scenic Area

The drama presents Qu Yuan’s daily life, literary creation, and cultural influence during his time in Taojiang, as well as his transformation from the thinking of maintaining royal power to the people-oriented thinking.
The clothing styles during the Chu and Han dynasties, Shangsi Festival rituals like giving vanillas and the coming-of-age ceremony, and food like shepherd’s purse, hibiscus and oranges described in the poem “Chu Ci” written by Qu Yuan are showcased in the drama.
The drama will present an elegant feast to visitors in the scenic area to promote Hunan culture through digital programming and other technologies.
It will be officially staged in July. An activity has been launched on the official WeChat account to invite audience to watch the trial performance, with its early bird tickets presold on the official applet.
According to Li Yan, chief director of the drama, “Zhuhai Fantasyland” is a new cultural tourism product which can promote consumption. Integrating the banquet, drama, and performance, it makes the fantasyland visible and sensible.
An official of Taojiang County expressed the hope to promote the high-quality development of the bamboo industry and cultural tourism industry in Taojiang through culture, and to enhance the reputation of Taojiang as “Qu Yuan’s Second Hometown”, “Hometown of Nan Bamboo”, and “Beauty Nest” in the world.
