Changsha Hometown Music Festival to kick off soon

The Changsha Symphony Orchestra will invite Tan Dun as the artistic director and conductor of the festival, bringing a colorful music world to the audience with the most representative repertoires and creative arrangements.
Tan Dun, a renowned musician both domestically and internationally, was born in Changsha, Hunan.
In 2021, the Changsha Symphony Orchestra hired Tan Dun as the orchestra’s lifetime honorary artistic director and conductor. The orchestra has performed multiple works in Changsha, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hong Kong and other places under the conduction of Tan Dun, conveying the spiritual power of Hunan culture to the world.
The most anticipated parts during this music festival are the opening and closing concerts.
On the evening of July 17, at the opening ceremony of the music festival, Tan Dun and singer Lei Jia will passionately perform “The Nine-Colored Deer”. On the evening of July 20, led by Tan Dun, the Changsha Symphony Orchestra will present their new work “Changsha Ancient Nao” at the closing ceremony.
