Jiangyong Nyushu gets popular in Shenzhen

The ethnic minority culture and the Han culture are deeply blended in Jiangyong County, southwest border of Hunan Province, and the world’s unique cultural treasure—Jiangyong Nyushu was born here. It’s the only existing gender-based script in the world.
In March 2002, nyushu was listed in the “Chinese Archives and Literature Heritage List”. It was included in the Guinness Book of World Records as “the most gender-specific text” in October 2005. And It was included in the first batch of China’s intangible cultural heritage list.
During the event, the exhibition area of Jiangyong Nyushu attracted people from all walks of life.
Tang Haiyan, director of the cultural tourism department of Jiangyong County, introduced that they also brought many nyushu creative products. For example, Madame’s Bottle, which is the official national gift designated by the summit conference, integrates the three items of quintessence of China's intangible cultural heritage: cloisonne, filigree inlay and Jiangyong Nyushu culture.
Such products as nyushu silver ornaments and Panwang soap also made the guests on the scene fondle admiringly.
During the event, Jiangyong County and Hunan Hongfeng Construction Engineering Co., Ltd. signed the Three-Thousand Culture Academy Cultural Tourism Complex Project. The project will vigorously promote Jiangyong Nyushu, a unique “living specimen” of Chinese culture, and comprehensively display Yongzhou’s intangible cultural heritage resources.
