Paper Cutting works celebrate Chinese New Year

Paper cuttings are a treasure of Chinese folk art, which conveys good wishes with ever-changing patterns. As the Year of the Loong comes, Li Yanqing, inheritor of Chenzhou paper cuttings, has created over 100 pieces of paper cutting works of the Chinese zodiac Loong in different sizes and shapes to welcome the Chinese New Year.



There are over 100 lifelike different dragon paper-cut works in Guiyang Cultural Park.

Loong is a symbol of wisdom, courage, strength, prosperity and auspiciousness, and is also one of the most profound cultural symbols that have had a profound impact on the Chinese nation.

The over hundred dragon-themed paper-cut works, which are rich in elements, contain good wishes in the Year of the Loong.



Guiyang Paper Cutting is included in the sixth batch of representative projects of intangible cultural heritage in Chenzhou City. Li Yanqing is the inheritor of Guiyang Paper Cutting, who has been engaged in the art for more than 20 years.

 The Loong paper cutting series are her first work in 2024, which expresses her good wishes and gifts for the the Year of the Loong.
