He Long Bronze Statue

Zhangjiajie has “three thousand rare and strange peaks” in the world, and the He Long Bronze Statue is known as the “3001st Peak” of Zhangjiajie. The He Long Bronze Statue, located in the He Long Park of the Tianzi Mountain Scenic Area in Zhangjiajie, is the largest copper statue designed and cast in China in nearly a century.

It is 6.5 meters tall and weighs over 9 tons. It was designed by the famous sculptor Pan He and was established in 1986. The head of the bronze statue is carved in a realistic approach and the body is shaped like a steep mountain of Zhangjiajie.

Marshal He Long stands in front of green mountains, lifts his right forearm and holds a tobacco pipe, with thick eyebrows, big eyes, and a familiar handlebar moustache. Beside him stands a bronze warhorse with a high head, seemingly waiting for its master to set out for the battlefield.

The Yunqing Rock behind the He Long Bronze Statue is an excellent observation platform that overlooks the peaks and forests of Zhangjiajie.
