Liuzi Street
Liuzi Street is located on the west bank of the Xiaoshui River, Lingling District, Yongzhou City. Together with Liuzi Temple, it is included in Liuzi Street Historical and Cultural Block.
In the first year of the Yongzhen period in the Tang Dynasty (805 AD), Liu Zongyuan was demoted to Yongzhou (today’s Lingling). He lived in Yongzhou for ten years and wrote many literary works. He put forward such people-oriented ideas as “official services for the people” and “benefiting for the people”, and set off a new trend of pragmatism in the literary world with Han Yu and others.

To commemorate Liu Zongyuan, the local people built Liuzi Temple in the third year of the Zhihe period of the Northern Song Dynasty. The temple was relocated to Liuzi Street in 1142 AD and rebuilt in 1877 AD.
Liuzi Street, where Liuzi Temple is situated, is 550 meters in length and 6 meters in width. Ancient shops in the Ming and Qing dynasties are on both sides of the street, and the ancient post road which linked Hunan and Guangxi in the past passes through the street.

Qianzhou Ancient Town Tourism and Leisure Block
Qianzhou Ancient Town, located in the south of Jishou City, is a national 4A scenic area as well as historical and cultural block under provincial-level protection.
It has a long history. After the Qin and Han dynasties, it became an important commercial port in Western Hunan because of the convenience of water transportation. During the Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties, Qianzhou Ancient Town became the political, economic, cultural and military center in the Miao area, ranking first among the four ancient towns in Xiangxi.
With a core area of about 0.47 square kilometers, the ancient town is a window on the mysterious culture of Xiangxi. The bluestone slabs, ancient pavilions, corridors and walls represent the profound history of this ancient town.
