Hunan has one new provincial-level water conservancy scenic area

The Qingshan Irrigation Area Water Conservancy Scenic Area is built based on the Qingshan Water Turbine Pumping Station Irrigation Area Project. The project is a large-scale water conservancy project based on water lifting irrigation with such functions as power generation and navigation. In 2023, it was reconstructed, with the irrigation area covering 9 towns and subdistricts in the southern Linli, which benefits an area of 500,000 mu (about 33333.33hectares). It has achieved a cumulative water lifting of over 4.3 billion cubic meters and a cumulative power generation of 2.5 billion kWh. It is the foundation and lifeline project for the high-quality development of Linli’s economy and society.
The Qingshan Irrigation Area Water Conservancy Scenic Area is based on the water landscape and characterized by the Qingshan spirit, Red culture, water culture, historical culture, and leisure culture. It has developed into an irrigation area type water conservancy scenic area that integrates water conservancy science popularization, cultural experience, sightseeing and study, and rural leisure by restoring the water ecology, promoting water culture, and developing water economy in the scenic area.
There is the Qingshan Water Turbine Pumping Station hub project, known as the “first pump in Asia”, the former residences of proletarian revolutionary Lin Boqu and famous writer Ding Ling, as well as Qingshan Cliff Tombs in the scenic area. Besides, it has good infrastructure, convenient transportation, and complete service facilities such as signage.
