Changsha
As one of five sub-venues of China Tourism Day activities, Changsha launched wonderful cultural tourism activities. From May 15 to June 30, Changsha Municipal Bureau of Culture, Tourism, Radio and Television will issue 500,000-yuan cultural tourism consumption vouchers to tourists through the “Smart Tourism in Changsha” Platform and issue summer cultural tourism consumption vouchers through Ctrip.
There are some cultural tourism activities launched in Changsha Riverside Culture Park. “Love in the riverside, visiting the love stairs” activity lasted until May 22. From May 10 to May 31, some performances will be held in various scenic spots and cultural venues in Changsha City. On May 19, the cultural tourism consumption season together with the second “Guitang Riverbank” leisure tourism festival was started.
On May 19, Changsha County held the opening ceremony of Changsha County competition zone of the 8th Fast Walking Competition as well as Kite Flying activity in Songya Lake National Wetland Park. On May 20, the 2023 “Songya Lake Business District” Night Market Carnival was launched at New Changhai Square. And on May 21, the 9th 2023 Changsha International Tea Cultural Tourism Festival kicked off.
Additionally, Liuyang City organized the 520 Firework Carnival on May 20.
Hengyang
On May 19, Changsha County held the opening ceremony of Changsha County competition zone of the 8th Fast Walking Competition as well as Kite Flying activity in Songya Lake National Wetland Park. On May 20, the 2023 “Songya Lake Business District” Night Market Carnival was launched at New Changhai Square. And on May 21, the 9th 2023 Changsha International Tea Cultural Tourism Festival kicked off.
Additionally, Liuyang City organized the 520 Firework Carnival on May 20.
Hengyang
The activities carried out in Nanyue Scenic Area will last until May 31. During that period, you can get a free ticket to enter the Nanyue Temple and Shuilian Cave Scenic Area if you wear Hanfu. On May 19, all scenic spots in Changning City and Hengnan County offered free admission tickets.
Zhuzhou
On May 19, Emperor Yan’s Mausoleum Scenic Area was open to tourists nationwide for free. From May 19 to 20, Shennonggu National Forest Park was also open to all visitors for free (not including bus exchange), and provided a detailed two-day tour route.
From May 19 to May 21, China Outdoor Exercise Leisure Activity (in Youxian County) sponsored by China Sports Lottery was held in Jiuxian Lake Scenic Area. The activities included cycling, outdoor running race (10km), fishing competition and other sports events and a music party.
Zhuzhou

Xiangtan
On May 19, Xiangtan City launched 2023 Xiangtan Culture, Tourism and Sports Consumption Season Activity at Wanlou Youth Wharf. Xiangtan City was aimed at attracting tourists to Xiangtan through activities such as issuing culture, tourism and sports consumption vouchers, which helped promote the recovery of the business, culture, tourism and sports consumption market and improve industrial quality. In order to support the cultural, tourism and sports consumption activities, Xiangtan City will open a tourism special line to universities in the province, and a direct cultural and tourism high-speed train to Xiangtan and Shaoshan South Railway Station in a market-oriented way.
Shaoyang
From May 19 to August 31, Shaoyang City will carry out the second Shaoyang cultural tourism consumption season activity, and introduce the city’s A-level tourist attractions policy that benefits the people. For instance, on May 19, China Tourism Day, tourists from all over the country could enjoy free admission to all the A-level scenic areas in Shaoyang. From May 20 to August 31, graduates of middle schools and high schools can enter the scenic areas for free by showing their exam attendance dockets. From May 20 to June 30, Hunan residents can enjoy a 50 percent discount on tickets purchased with their ID cards. From May 20 to December 31, 2025, medical personnel in Shaoyang City can visit the scenic areas without tickets with valid certificates. (The above policies do not include rafting, hot springs, karst caves and consumption in scenic spots.)
Yueyang
From May 18 to 19, Yueyang City hosted the 2023 Hunan Yueyang Crayfish Industry Expo as well as the first Masses Cultural Art Festival. There were also other activities, like the Yueyang 2023 “5.19” China Tourism Day Publicity Activity as well as the Baling Mango Night Market Consumption Festival, the blueberry picking activity, etc.
Changde

Chenzhou launched Yangtian Lake Grassland Friendship Activity, Rucheng Tea, Tourism and Homestays Cultural Tourism Festival. From May 15 to 21, Wuzhi Peak Scenic Area at Mangshan Mountain in Chenzhou City introduced special tickets for the singles and couples, respectively. During the theme week of 2023 “May 19 China Tourism Day” in Loudi sub-venue, Loudi jointly launched the activities with Shuangfeng County, including cultural tourism experience at night, fun games for farmers and other tourist activities.
Through these activities, Loudi made efforts to integrate Loudi’s regional tourism resources and promote the city’s and county’s resources nationwide. Cai Hesen Memorial Hall will provide visitors with a free explanation of the Red story of Cai Hesen’s family.
