Nantan Grassland approved as national Red grassland

Nantan Grassland is located in Sangzhi County, Zhangjiajie City, with tropical shrub tussocks and mountainous meadows. Hunan Nantan National Grassland Nature Park is in the grassland.
Nantan Grassland was an important part of the revolutionary base areas of Western Hunan, Hubei, Sichuan and Guizhou during the Agrarian Revolutionary War. It has the national key cultural relic protection units of the Former Residence of He Long and the former site of the departure of the Second and Sixth Corps of the Red Army on the Long March, as well as the provincial cultural relic protection unit of the former site of Bamaoxi Salt Bureau.
Nanshan Grassland is located in Chengbu Miao Autonomous County, Shaoyang City. It’s an important part of the Nanshan National Park, with mountainous meadows and tropical shrub tussocks, making it a typical representative of mid to high mountain pastures in Southern China.
The Nanshan Grassland is the place where Laoshanjie, crossed by the Central Red Army during the Long March, lies. Now it has the former site of Xiangjiang Campaign, a national key cultural relic protection unit, and the provincial key cultural relics units of the remains of the Nanshan Red Army’s Long March Road, Red Army Rock and the former site of the Gaoshan Sentry.
Next, efforts will be made to empower green development with Red grasslands to promote ecological protection and utilization of grasslands and create a replicable and promotable path for green and high-quality development of Red grasslands.
