Hunan adds 12 tourism districts

Wangcheng District of Changsha City, Wulingyuan District of Zhangjiajie City, Hecheng District of Huaihua City, Yuetang District of Xiangtan City, Beihu District of Chenzhou City, and Nanyue District of Hengyang City were included in China’s top 100 districts with tourist development potential in 2023.
The tourism research has covered 977 municipal districts in mainland China.
The study on the comprehensive tourism strength of national municipal districts includes a research and evaluation system based on 36 indicators in six aspects of the level of tourism economic development, promotion roles of governments, comprehensive driving functions of tourism industry, tourism development and environmental protection, tourism facilities and service functions, and tourism quality and market supervision. The top 100 with the highest scores are listed among the top 100 national municipal districts for comprehensive tourism strength in 2023.
The indicator system for national municipal districts with tourism development potential includes 21 indicators in tourism resource potential, tourism market potential, tourism development benefits, and tourism support conditions. The top 100 with the highest scores are selected among the top 100 national municipal districts with tourism development potential in 2023.
