Wangcheng launches cultural and tourism activities for coming Spring Festival

In recent years, Wangcheng District has made every effort to build a demonstration zone for the integration of culture and tourism in the entire region and a national-level tourist resort in Tongguan Kiln. It has carried out the Spring Festival cultural and tourism activities for six years, which have become a unique cultural brand during the Spring Festival in Wangcheng.
During the Spring Festival holiday this year, various theme activities will be held in Wangcheng, like the fifth Tongguan Kiln temple fair and the second China-Chic lantern show in the ancient town of Tongguan Kiln, the Jinggang temple fair, and the parent-child experience fair in Shutangshan Village.
Wangcheng has the 35-kilometer-long golden coast line of the Xiangjiang River, and is the only district in Changsha that spans both sides of the Xiangjiang River. In the upgraded Jinggang Ancient Town, located on the east bank of the Xiangjiang River, various cultural activities such as the large-scale Spring Festival couplets writing activity, the intangible cultural heritage fair, and dragon dances have allowed tourists to immerse themselves in the poetic atmosphere and bustling nightlife of the ancient town.
The Ancient Town of Tongguan Kiln, located on the west bank of the Xiangjiang River, boasts two national 4A-level scenic areas, namely Tongguan Kiln Guofeng Park and Tongguan Kiln National Archaeological Site Park. It also has accommodation clusters such as five-star hotels, five-star homestay inns, and national cultural themed hotels. It is striving to create a national-level tourism resort. In the Spring Festival holiday, tourists can enjoy the China-Chic lantern show, visit the temple fair, watch the immersive performances, taste delicious food, participate in New Year customs activities, and tour the Guofeng Park in the Ancient Town of Tongguan Kiln.
Wangcheng District will also launch a series of popular cultural activities, including dragon dance, dragon painting, dragon carving exhibitions, the Red culture and creative short video contest, the folk culture and art festival, walking on stilts, the puppet show and the waist drum performance.
Wangcheng is the hometown of Lei Feng. It is a tourist destination with beautiful mountains and rivers, and rich cultural heritage. It has Red revolutionary tourism, ancient town tourism, and green rural tourism resources, providing tourists with a colorful and rich cultural and tourism experience throughout the year.
Meanwhile, it boasts 6 national 4A-level scenic areas and 3 3A-level scenic areas, including national historical and cultural towns, national characteristic landscape tourism towns and villages, and national rural tourism maker bases, attracting tourists from all over the country.
Wangcheng District will continue to promote the construction of the Spring Festival brands, enrich tourism products, and strengthen the cultural and tourism integration, in a bid to achieve the high-quality development of the cultural and tourism industry.
