As a national intangible cultural heritage project, the Nanyue Temple Fair started from the eighth day of the twelfth lunar month and will end on the fifteenth day of the first lunar month this time. It has created a grandest cultural IP for Spring Festival customs activities in Southern China. There were also various activities like New Year prayer, the lantern show, the symphony concert, and opera performances.
On the second day of the first lunar month, nearly 30 projects such as paper boats, dragon and lion dances, waist drums and embroidered balls were presented at the Aoshan Temple Fair in Dahewei Township of Leiyang City, allowing tens of thousands of tourists to soak up the charm of provincial-level intangible cultural heritage.

“The city tapped local cultural resources such as intangible cultural heritage and folk customs, launched a variety of cultural tourism activities, and enriched the types of tourism products to enhance tourists’ experience and cultural sensitivity,” said an official of Hengyang Municipal Bureau of Culture, Tourism, Radio, Television and Sports.
In order to attract tourists during the Spring Festival holiday, multiple scenic areas in Hengyang City also launched nighttime tourism projects, such as the fireworks show to welcome the Chinese New Year held at Jinyue Lake of Nanyue District, the molten iron fireworks show and bonfire party in Zhurong Town, and the snow scene 5D light show in the Shuangshuiwan Scenic Area of Zhuhui District.
