The festival of the Bai ethnic group, with a history of thousands of years, originated in Dali City of Yunnan Province and is developed in Sangzhi County.
Before the event began, Bai people, dressed in ethnic costumes, conducted an artistic and ornamental Bai God Pageant Ceremony, praying for good weather and national prosperity in the coming year.
At the opening ceremony, Bai’s characteristic programs such as Bawang Whip, Octagonal Drum, Sangzhi Folk Song, and Bai Battle Drum Dance were staged in turns, attracting continuous applause and cheers from the audience. During the period, Bai ethnic girls also presented Bai Three-Course Tea to the guests.

“The parade and performances made me feel the unique charm of ethnic culture. I hope that more similar activities will be held in the future, so that more and more people can understand the Bai culture and experience its unique charm,” said an audience.
In addition, the rural market on both sides of the town road was also very popular. The chili sauce a stall owner sold has a bright color and enticing aroma, drawing numerous customers to purchase it. The owner said that in just one morning, 200 bottles of chili sauce were sold and he earned 4,000 yuan.

The “Sanyuejie” Folk Culture Festival attracted more than 20,000 people, and 60 stalls were set up in the rural market, including specialty snacks, local products, handicrafts, clothing, shoes, and bags, with an economic benefit of about 150,000 yuan.
