2024-08-05

As the premiere performance of the theatre, the dance drama is based on the arm protector with the inscriptions of “Five stars appear in the East, sign of Chinese victory over the Qiang” unearthed from the Niya Site in Hotan, Xinjiang. It tells the touching story among “Feng”, the garrison commander of Han Dynasty, and “Jian Te”, the son of the northern leader, and “Chun Jun”, the daughter of the Jingjue city leader through dances.
It presents the unique cultural aesthetics of the Central Plains and Western Regions during the Han Dynasty through diverse forms of instrumental music, songs and dances, showcasing the beauty of traditional Chinese culture.

The drama was performed by Beijing Dance Drama and Opera and Xinjiang Xinyu Song and Dance Troupe. It won the Best Works Award at the 16th Spiritual Civilization Construction Award and the “Wenhua Award” at the 17th China Culture and Arts Government Award.
The “Jinxiu” dance in the drama made a stunning appearance at the 2023 CCTV Spring Festival Gala. The theme song “Never Forget” won the 10th Beijing Literature and Art Award.
The premiere season series event will continue until December. During this period, these performances cover such art forms as dance dramas, stage plays, children’s plays, Huangmei opera, and ballet.
