The China Seal Culture Exhibition Hall Hengdong Pavilion, Hengdong Seal Culture Industry Research Institute, and Hengdong Seal Chamber of Commerce were unveiled on the site.
The seal culture of Hengdong has been passed down from generation to generation and is quite famous. During the period of Emperor Jiaqing’s reign of the Qing Dynasty, Peng Jun, Number One Scholar (title conferred on the one who came first in the highest imperial examination) from Hengdong, brought a variety of ox horn, stone, and wooden seals to the capital, making Hengdong seals known by more people.

For six hundred years, Hengdong people have turned seals from a niche product into a popular commodity.
More than 80% of the seal materials in China are produced, processed, and sold by Hengdong people, and are also exported to countries and regions such as Japan, South Korea, and Tanzania, with an annual output value of over 3 billion yuan.
The statue of Wen Peng, a scholar of the imperial academy in the Ming Dynasty, is located at the Seal Culture Square. Wen Peng comes from Lihou Village of Daqiao Town, Hengdong County. His father, Wen Zhengming, is one of the “four scholars in Jiangnan”.

Wen Peng inaugurated the school of seal carving, who later became known as the founder of the “Seal School”.
The main body of the statute is a full body portrait of Wen Peng, and in the front face of the pedestal there is a brief introduction to Wen Peng’s life.

Three seals carved on the other three sides of the pedestal are Wen Peng’s masterpieces.
The building behind the statue is a three-storey “seal building”, in which there are seal scrip curtain walls featuring historical figures and place names in Hengdong County.
The Seal Culture Square is also designed with landscapes such as “famous seal carvings”, “seal tree pools”, and “seal seats” for citizens and tourists to relax and experience.
Hengdong Seal Culture Industry Park covers an area of over 300 mu (20 hectares) and is the largest seal culture industry park in China integrating seal product development and manufacturing, seal culture research, and seal carving experience.
The park consists of a seal e-commerce building, a seal culture square, a seal culture block, a seal culture exhibition hall, and a seal culture industry research institute.
At present, the first phase of the park has been put into operation, and the seal building and seal culture block have become new popular attractions.
46 modern seal production enterprises nationwide and over 1,000 merchants from the national seal industry and Southeast Asian countries like Japan, Malaysia and Thailand participated in this two-day conference.

The exquisite works of the sea industry and the profound and unique seal culture were showcased. It has been the largest exhibition in China’s seal industry in the past decade years.
Hengdong County has nearly 200 seal enterprises, covering the national seal market. There are over 500 types of seal products, which are exported to more than 30 countries and regions such as Japan and Malaysia, with a national market share of 80%.
