Shennong Valley National Forest Park, the boundary and birthplace of Hunan and Jiangxi river systems, was originally known as Taoyuan Cave National Forest Park and was renamed Shennong Valley National Forest Park in 2005. It is now a national 4A level scenic area.
With the subtropical monsoon humid climate, it has an average annual temperature of 14.4℃ and the annual average relative humidity of 86%. The park enjoys a typical mountain climate with less sunshine, low temperature, abundant precipitation, high humidity, low wind speed and great vertical difference of climate change.
Shennong Valley National Forest Park covers a total area of 10,000 hectares, with a north-south length of 32.25 kilometers and an east-west width of 13.50 kilometers. There are five main scenic areas including Jiashui, Tianxinli, Dongkeng, Taohua Creek and Pingkeng with dozens of scenic spots such as the Luoshuiyuan Waterfall, Bead Curtain Waterfall, Shennong Flying Waterfall, Tree Roots Around the Stone and so on.
