Qianzhou Ancient Town

The fascinating ancient town attracts visitors by its ancient traditional culture. Hujiatang
Hujiatang, which has existed since the Tang and Song Dynasties, consists of Datang and Xiaotang, covering an area of 2,800 square meters. In Xiaotang, there is a deep ancient well called Anlan Well, which is said to be connected to the Wanrong River. The well not only provides drinking water for local people, but also made a lot of contributions to the defense of Qianzhou.
Three City Towers
Yuecheng, a small city wall to conceal the gate of the main city wall, usually has two towers and two gates in China. But the Yuecheng of Qianzhou is equipped with a main tower in the middle and two side towers with three gates. The Three City Towers have been renowned for centuries due to the perfect layout that was designed to meet demands for residents’ life, trade, transportation, military defense according to local terrain.
Plus its magnificent shape, exquisite crafts and solid structure, it is worthy of being the artistic treasure of China’s ancient buildings.
North City Gate
The North City Gate, also called Gongji Gate, was built in 1797 and used for conscription. The city tower made of grey stones, glutinous rice and lime is 22 meters high and 40.2 meters wide, making the building majestic and sturdy.
Qianzhou Confucious’ Temple
Built in 1729, Qianzhou Confucious’ Temple includes Minglun Hall, Wenchang Palace, Dacheng Hall, Dacheng Gate, Zhuangyuan Bridge, Lingxing Gate, and Memorial Temple of the Saints, covering an area of about 4,887 square meters.
