Moon Lake Park in Changsha City
The lotus flowers in Changsha Moon Lake Park are now blooming.
Moon Lake Park is located at the intersection of North Wanjiali Road and Sany Avenue, Kaifu District, with convenient transportation. It’s a wetland and lake-type urban park, with an area of over 1,000 mu (about 66.7 hectares). There is a moon-shaped lake, a walking trail, a viewing platform, as well as temples, inscriptions, ancient wells and other scenic spots.
Whether you take a walk for fitness, go camping, or have a dinner at the lakeside restaurant here, the lake scenery can add a bit of poetry and surprise.
Over 300 mu (20 hectares) of lotus flowers can be viewed from June to August. Youyu Coffee, Yuehushi Art Restaurant, and the opposite side of the south gate are excellent places to appreciate lotus flowers.
Liuhuawan Village in Zixing City, Chenzhou City
Liuhuawan Village in Zixing City has the most blooming lotus flowers in Chenzhou now.
Liuhuawan Village is located in Sandu Town, Zixing, a national 3A scenic spot. There are over 400 well-preserved ancient dwellings in Southern Hunan during the Ming and Qing dynasties, with a history of over 600 years.
Liuhuawan is also a cradle of the Red revolution, the first Party member congress of the Zixing County Soviet Government of the CPC was held here. The former site of the Zixing Soviet Government was listed as a provincial cultural relics protection unit in 2011.
A vast sea of lotus flowers in front of the ancient village, quaint ancient buildings and towering old trees make it an ideal place for tourists to take photos.
Junshan Wild Lotus World in Yueyang City
Junshan Wild Lotus World, opened in June this year, has been recognized as the largest gathering place of wild lotus in Asia by the Shanghai China Records Headquarters. It covers an area of 6,000 mu (400 hectares) and has hundreds of varieties of lotus, and the viewing period is from mid-summer to early winter.
Junshan Wild Lotus World is located in Guangxingzhou Town, Junshan District, Yueyang City. It was renamed after it was awarded the title of “hometown of wild lotus in China” by the National Forestry and Grassland Administration. It is a national 4A level tourist attraction.
The scenic area covers a total area of 10,000 mu (about 666.67 hectares), with a lotus appreciation tower, Ailian Road, a ferry dock, a Furong ancient well and other attractions.
Here, you can climb the 9-story high viewing tower to see a magnificent sea of lotus flowers, kayak on the lake, experience fishing, taste delicious food, and enjoy the countryside scenery.
Paragon Garden in Xiangtan City
Xiangtan, a city of lotus and the birthplace of Xianglian lotus, is a good place to appreciate lotus flowers in summer.
The lotus garden of Paragon Garden opened to the public on June 15. It’s known as a treasure trove of domestic lotus varieties, where you can enjoy the world’s most varieties of lotus.
Paragon Garden is located at Furong Avenue, Yuetang District, Xiangtan City, with a planned area of 11,600 mu (about 773.33 hectares). There are ten characteristic areas featuring azalea flowers, cherry blossoms, lotus flowers, orchid flowers, tea flowers, bonsais, vegetables, farming culture, Chinese wistaria and green pines and verdant bamboos. It’s the largest base with the most abundant and most diverse flowers in Central and South China. It’s the “backyard” of Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan City Group.
Among them, the lotus garden covers an area of more than 300 mu (20 hectares), and gathers more than 1,200 kinds of Chinese and foreign lotus flowers.
Pushi Ancient Town in Xiangxi Prefecture
Pushi Ancient Town is located in the southern end of Luxi County and the west bank of the middle reaches of the Yuanshui River. It enjoys the reputation of “the first of the four ancient towns in Xiangxi”, and was rated as a national 4A scenic spot in 2016.
There are 3 historical blocks, 2 historical relics and 204 historical buildings in Pushi Ancient Town, as well as ten views like Ji’s Family Courtyard, Longevity Palace and Shangfang Temple. Among them, the Wanhe Park located in Jijiatou, Shangzheng Street is a good place for many people to appreciate lotus flowers.
