The Baofeng Lake Scenic Spot, with beautiful lake scenery, steep cliffs and ancient villages, is an important part of Wulingyuan’s lake scenery. The scenery of Water Curtain Cave, Mount Huaguo in the TV series Journey to the West is shot in Baofeng Waterfall. There are two small islands in the lake with a body of crystalline and calm water surrounded by emerald mountains, fascinating tourists with its fairytale splendor.
The Baofeng Lake is a lake on the gorge and surrounded by mountains. It’s 72 meters deep and 2.5 kilometers long. It’s a key attraction of Wulingyuan Core Scenic Area.
Baofeng Waterfall is the location of Water Curtain Cave, Mount Huaguo in the TV series Journey to the West, and the main venue of the 7th Zhangjiajie International Forest Protection Festival. It’s famous for its strange mountains, grotesque rocks, emerald peaks, and impressive waterfall, attracting a great number of tourists every year.
Yingwo Village used to be a bandit village and later became one of the locations of the TV series Bandits in Wulong Mountain. The village is located on the cliffs with very little flat land. People use cliffs to shelter from wind and rain, or build stone houses within more than ten square meters.
