“It’s so exciting,” said a young man, after getting off the cliff swing at the Hongyan Ridge Scenic Area in Zhangjiajie.
In March of this year, a series of new outdoor exploration projects in the Hongyan Ridge scenic area opened, such as high-altitude cable bridge, sliding rope, airship, cliff swing, rock climbing, attracting many tourists.
The scenic area is located in Hongyanling Village, Ganyan Tujia Township, Cili County, close to the Wulingyuan Scenic Area of Zhangjiajie, with the special Danxia landform. As of now nine outdoor activities have been developed, and more than 10,000 tourists have been received since March.
“The scenic area now focuses on outdoor exploration. The integration of unique Danxia landscape and thrilling outdoor sports makes people feel magical, mysterious, and thrilled,” said Li Dun, director of the Operations Department of the Scenic Area.
The high popularity of the scenic area has also promoted the development of surrounding catering industry. A rural leisure farm near the Hongyan Ridge scenic area received over 1,500 people in a single day at its peak.
