Zhuzhou is a blessed land of Shennong and a city of power, as well as an important pole of Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan City Cluster. It has a total area of 11,200 square kilometers and a total population of 4.08 million. Yan Emperor, the earliest ancestor of the Chinese nation, was buried in Yanling County of Zhuzhou where 6 million Chinese from home and abroad come to seek their roots and worship ancestors every year.
The city grows with the industrial development. Zhuzhou is one of the country's eight old industrial cities, where the first electric locomotive, the first aeroengine, the first air-to-air missile, the first cemented carbide and other 230 firsts in China's industrial history were made. At present, Zhuzhou’s China Power Valley rises to fame, its modern industrial system is coming into shape, and the railway transport equipment industry exceeds 100 billion yuan. Zhuzhou, known as "the capital of electric locomotives in China", is the largest non-ferrous metal deep processing base, cemented carbide research base and electric vehicle research base in Asia.

Zhuzhou is a red land, the cradle of revolution and an important part of the revolutionary base of Jinggang Mountain. Zhu De joined forces with Mao Zedong in Shidu Town of Yanling County. The Soviet Government of Chaling County was the first county-level “red political power”.
